Lipsynch does indeed work with Notes when synching to the Palm. Here are the steps we have taken to link Notes and a Palm device so that it can transfer Calendar, Address Book and To Do’s from Notes. At present, the current version of the Lipsync software does not support transfer of Notes Mail to the Palm. Kissworks is currently working on the mail feature and hopes to have it available in the next year or so.
-
Make sure system requirements are met (Mac OS 10.2.2, and Notes 5.0.8 or greater).
-
Download, install and configure Palm Desktop 4.x (4.1 is the current version) from the Palm web site; make sure Palm device will sync successfully.
-
Download and install iCal from the Apple web site.
-
Download and install iSync from the Apple web site.
-
Download and install iSync_Palm Conduit from the Apple web site.
-
From within the Palm HotSync Manager, enable the iSync conduit.
-
Download, install, and register LipSync 2.0 from the Kissworks web site (earilier version does support product registration correctly).
-
From within Notes, go to Notes Workspace and launch LipSync (may want to place bookmark for this on Bookmark Bar).
-
Need to run LipSync twice to make sure all settings are working.
-
After LipSync successfully syncs Notes with iCal, the iSync control panel should automatically appear.
-
Click on the Sync button (not the .mac button), then press the HotSync button on the Palm cradle when prompted.
This should allow the synchronization to complete successfully.
Note: The Palm actually syncs with iCal … LipSync facilitates the synchronization between Notes and iCal only, and iSync does the rest in conjunction with the Palm HotSync Manager.
