Installing Domino 8.5

I installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and would like to trial Domino 8.5 server. When going to the IBM Download site, I’m confused as to which download to choose. Can someone tell me which download is the right one for me?

Thanks,

Paul

Pablo, You can find the download here

It’s a multiplatform download.

Regarding installation, a good resource in spanish http://www.roverex.org/trac/wiki/RoverexDServerDominoTutorial

Subject: 10.10 LTS and Domino test

I too am considering Ubuntu over RHL/CentOS, i have installed LTS and downloaded the relevant domino installer and put it i a 32 bit VMware container, however even though i have installed sun java, and installed all the suggested apps to get it to run i am getting the following error. i have previously downloaded the deb package from http://www.roverex.org (but this site no longer seems active) which i have also run.

when running the installer from an xterm i see the following error.

The Java Virtual Machine is not found: libjvm.so

if i run it directly from a ssh/term session i cannot see that error.

Now i KNOW libjvm.so is on the system and have even added the java/bin path to $PATH i think others have this installer fail issue but as they are not looking at the installer in xterm are not seeing the error.

uname -a =

Linux **** 2.6.35-28-generic-pae #50-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 18 20:43:15 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux

java -version =

java version “1.6.0_21”

Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_21-b06)

Java HotSpot™ Client VM (build 17.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)

any suggestions or guesses welcome, i am NOT a java expert by any means but am still looking for a solution to this as i would like to roll out Ubuntu on both our servers AND workstations if possible, i have yet to even try with a workstation.
