Subject: yes …
one of the tricky parts for me was to make it start automatically when the OS boots, but this is not a CentOS 5.2 specific problem, I believe it is a general Linux thing. You might find this info usefull …

Subject: Yes, but…
It’s still unstable for me, crashing regularly. While starting, tunekrnl attempts to update some values in /proc/sys, but that doesn’t happen as even root can’t write to the virtual files placed there.
I’m still trying to work out what’s happening at the machine, as nsd doesn’t run either - I get no nsd’s from a crash.
Subject: Yes and with Sametime.
Hi,
I’ve recently installed Domino with Sametime on CentOS 5.2 twice as a test server; first under VM and then on an old Thinkpad T23. Both times everything worked like a charm.
I’ve also bee running Domino 8.5 on Ubuntu 8.04 for a couple months.
When I install CentOS on the test boxes, I’ve disabled SELinux as I don’t want to mess with it for a test box; I suspect that it might cause some of the issues in writing to the /proc filesystem.
Don’t forget to adjust the /etc/security/limits.conf file
One thing I have noticed is that Domino doesn’t seem to shutdown cleanly (both Ubuntu and CentOS). The server process hangs on and hangs on until I kill it manually or it NSD’s.
… I really should install the fixpack.
