Installing dictionaries

I’m trying to install a German dictionary for spell-checking. English would still be the default.

I’ve copied the deutsch.dic into my data folder, and when I go to preferences>Spell check I see the language and can set it to default if necessary.

However, if it’s not default and I want to spell-check in German it’s not on the list in the new message dictionary list.

The help says to install dictionary but I don’t have that option in my preferences (I know I had the option in 8.0, but it isn’t there in 8.5)

Any suggestions, one of our users needs to be able to spell-check in German and I can’t get him to change the default language every time

Lotus changed the spell check. So they don’t use the *.dic files any more.

There is an easy fix (not the “correct” one) by adding this to the ini file: SPELL_FORCE_LEGACY=1 . Then the spell check should work like before.
