Hello, i am trying to install a new first server in my organization (actualy i have a first server Domino R5 and an additional server with fax FXD), what i want to do is install the new 6 first server in another machine, and some how connect the existing server with FXD to the new first server. I need to maintain the r5 firts server to the users normal work…My question is should i create a cross certificate between both servers or simply register the FXD server ?

I am not familiar with FXD, but I believe a connection document (for mail routing and replication) and cross certification is probably all that you need.

Why do you wish to create another ‘First Server’?
There is nothing magical or particularly significant about the first server - except that it usually marks the start of your business’s transition to a superior business information and management system.
The only difference is that the installation software goes through a ‘self construction’ process to create the system’s ‘master rubber stamp’ - the Organisation (sometimes referred to as Domain) Certifier in the form of a file named Cert.id by default; but renamable to something a lot more meaningful. It then creates and certifies a server ID for itself (default name Server.id) and a user ID for the administrator, attached to the bottom of the user’s Person Document.
From then on it is no different to any subsequent servers except that you have the luxury of naming them, creating the necessary ID file and configuration documents in advance and at your leisure before you build the box, install the software and ‘fire it up’ just like creating a workstation for a user.
Do it the easy way and do all the creation stuff beforehand - for a whole network of servers if you want, using the first server you built as the registration server. Then go forth and ‘build’.
