Installing 8.5.1 FP1 from fix.msi

Is it possible to run the fixpack from the extracted fix.msi?

When I try this, it gives an error - fix.ini can’t be located from the expected location

As we want to push the FP out using zenworks we’d need to use the msi - is this a bug?

Cheers

Dan

I also would love to know how to do this. We deploy everything we can via group policy and the fix.msi makes me think that they have included this for this purpose, yet I can not get it to work.

Same problem here! Would be great…

I opened a PMR on this last summer and it is still being run through the mill.

We had luck with this on earlier releases and something they’ve recently done has screwed it up.

Please open a PMR and inequire about SPR RSSA7YZMCD – then add yourself to the list of interested customers. That will increase the weight–and the chances that something may eventually get done.

Hi all,

the fix.msi needs the property SETUPEXEDIR with the value of the SourceDirectory (like SETUPEXEDIR=“D:\Temp\ln851fp1”

Hi

Hope you can help… The fix you suggested works great but i would like to put something in that isn’t hard coded so it is smart enough to know where the Source Directory is (as this may change and will be different in our various environments).

Thanks in Advance

Subject: Procedure in LTN 1397558 generates same error

The same error occurs if you use the procedure in LTN 1397558 to create a msi file.

Be nice if it would tell you what is the “expected location.”
