Installer choking - thinks there's no disk space

I am trying to install 6.0.1 CF1 on a Mac running OS 10.2.6 and I get through to the point of writing files when the installer complains “There was not enough free space on the hard drive to complete the install process.” even though the installer showed “Available space on disk: 35.56 GB” and “Required space: 56.56 MB”. I have tried updating a previous version, doing a clean install, and uninstalling the previous and doing a clean install and nothing works.Anyone have any ideas? Permissions on some file somewhere?

I have discovered that the first beta version of 6.5 also produces the same error, but the milestone 2 version of 6.5 installs fine!Unfortunately I can’t use 6.5 because of another problem (already reported).

Don’t know if this is any help.

Are you running the installer from a local volume? We’ve seen some errors when running the installer from a network volume where you don’t have full privileges. It’s also possible (based on some other reports) that one or more installer files didn’t get included in the kits. I’ll post another reponse if I find out any more.

We’ve seen this on OS X 10.2.8 for both version 6.5 and 6.0.2CF2… both installers show the same error… however, they also both did install properly at one time (although they crashed with unexpected errors when running). There is 131 GB free, even the Notes installer programs say this, so the error description is bogus in terms of the real problem here.

We did multiple uninstalls until the install programs would finally come up with “Clean Install” as a default. (Also wiped out any remaining files from any previous installs)…

Both versions were having problems causing the program to terminate… can’t figure out why both versions are having this issue… Any updates on why this is happening would be appreciated, thanks ! (this Mac has 1GB RAM also)

Install problem was corrected after re-copying the hqx image to the hard drive from a cd (some kinda corruption on the drive)?

HOWEVER… the app will NOT run under 10.2.8… you must set the app to run in CLASSIC mode to work… very strange.

(Still get “The application Notes has unexpectedly quit” under OS X)
