Installed DAMO and not getting a Welcome letter... and not seeing email on Domino either?

Installed 6.5.3 DAMO with mail on 6.5.1 server.Shouldn’t I be able to see all the mail in my current mail file?

Should I be able to open my mail file with EITHER a notes client OR Outlook (on another workstation)?

I didn’t get the Welcome to DAMO message in my mail file… where do I go from here?

6.5.3 should be compatible with the 6.5.1 server.

It might be worth trying 6.5.4 DAMO, which is available as a public beta – download from the Lotus website. Also try uninstalling, deleting the mail cache file (username_servername.nsf) and reinstalling.

Subject: another thought… Outlook setttings?

Here is a thought… once Outlook is installed and you run it the first time, I followed the instructions (step-by-step)… is there any other Outlook setup required? One person thought I needed to set it up as IMAP or something? Im really not an Outlook person here… so any help would be wonderful.

There were no other steps listed after running the DAMO executable before opening Outlook. And all my screens matched the screen shots in the instructions…is there anything I can re-run? What does the DAMO exe do that maybe I can check to see if it didn’t do?

Not sure what would happen with mixed releases but it works best with a 6.5.3 server with the 6.5.3 installation.

If using the 6.5.1 server version, I believe you’ll need to use the 6.5.1 DAMO version as well.

Once configured, you should be able to see the message in either Outlook or Notes.

From here, uninstall 6.5.3 DAMO and install 6.5.1. Better yet, upgrade your server to 6.5.3. Just flip in the disc and go!

If you’re doing this for testing, just be aware that upgrading from DAMO (client side) from 6.5.1 to 6.5.3 requires uninstall and reinstall – ugh. Just go with 6.5.3.

Subject: Thanks, but…

the instructions clearly state that you can install 6.5.3 with ANY server version of 6.5.1 and higher… so I’m hoping that’s not it. We will be upgrading the server, probably next week…but wanted this to work this week for testing.

Subject: Can you be a Dual User?

Can a person use Outlook on one machine (like in another dept) and a full Notes client on a different machine and be checking their mail file? I figured you could, unless the Outlook client is 'POP’ing the mail down to it…which I didnt think it was doing… ?
