I’m having problems installing Lotus Notes 8.5 trial version.I am using openSUSE 11.0 and downloaded the trial version. It was a tar file named C1SC0EN.tar.
The contents were rpms and a gpg file.
Installed the ibm_lotus_notes-8.5.i586.rpm.
It seems to have created an icon in my applications list. But when i click on it, nothing comes up. Moreover, when i try to uninstall it, nothing happens.
What i noticed was that during the installation process, there was nothing much that happened.
It said ‘Starting the package manager’, ‘Initialize the target system’, Load the configured repositories, and then the progress bar does not show any movement. After sometime, the window closed.
It seemed to have created the Lotus icon in my Applications list. But as i said before, when i click on it, nothing happens.
A re-installation also fails because i am unable to remove the existing installation files.
How do i remove the existing installation and install the product properly??
