Can anyone please, tell if sametime and mail server be installed on the same machine. And How to proceed with the installation.

You can do that if you wish, partition the servers.

However I expect that everyone else aswell as me will advise you to put them on separate servers.

Windows is the only unsupported platform for Sametime on a partitioned server. This is on the assumption that Sametime 7.5.1 is supported on a partitioned Linux server since Lotus just announced a Linux Sametime server. You can try to run it in a partitioned Windows server, but you will be unsupported.
