Hi,
Installation of Notes Client 8.5 on Citrix Server is fine.This has been done remotely using an Remote Desktop Session. But on Launching the Notes icon I get a splash screen of Notes on the Citrix server and after some time the splash screen vanishes with no action. Could somebody provide a solution to this. I have adminstrative access to this system.

I found that if I installed Notes on a server with terminal services enabled on it I had to use a silent install for it it work. If I use the interactive install I get the same problem you are seeing.
mind you, if I install notes on a server without terinal services installed (using the interactivev install) and then add on terminal services it works fine!
Never did get to the bottom of it, but if you try doing a silent install see if that fixes the problem
(NB we install the Multi user standard client)

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. My only option at the moment is to install notes via an RDP session. Do u think that we have no solution to install notes remotely onto a Citrix box?

Hi,
well you can still do a silent install via an RDP session. The only difference is that once you have extracted the install package, rather than running setup.exe by clicking on it you can use a dos command prompt to run the setup.exe using something like setup.exe /s /v"CITRIX=1 /qn"
It MAY solve your problem. I have seen various issues with installing Notes standard client on machines with terminal services on (though funny enough it works fine if you just use RDP on a windows 2003 server without terminal services installed). As I say, I have not quite got to the bottom of this issue yet so welcome other users feedback. All I can say for sure is that in my case the only way of installing it that I found that consitently worked via Terminal services was by running setup.exe from the command line.
We HAVE now got R8.5/R8.5.1 standard client working under Citrix and RDP/terminal services and Notes its self works fine. We do have some issues with symphony but thats another story!

Hi there,I have been trying now for months to get lotus notes 8.5 to launch through citrix, you get the password screen and then after typing in password you see nothing, absolutely nothing.
How did you resolve your problem, this is very frustrating, we are using xenapp 5 and lotus notes 8.5 standard configuration, basic launches fine but we want the rich experience.

This fixed it for us: Deleted user preferences from the softgrid client folder and recreated the NotesR8 (data) folder. loaded fine.
