Installation Issues with Smart Upgrade (from 7.0.x to 8.5.1 FP4)

I had hoped the new fixpack would change anything, still I get the same errors:

I have a kit made with with SURunAsWizard. It combines LNv851 and FP4 by calling a batch file. The kit itself works fine, the issue is all about Smart Upgrade.

  1. Whether I write a deploy version or not in the policy, I cannot force my users to only delay by 1 hour (although checked). They always get the option to delay even until the next deployment.

  2. Due to our users having mapped “My Documents” folders to a network drive (no writing access at the root of this drive), they receive an error message “Failed to open log file LotusInstall.log.log”. Important: The installation does NOT fail, they simply have to click OK and it will continue installing. It is just an annoyance which we cannot avoid; mapping them back to default is not a possibility.

  3. Some users - and I must admit I still have not found out what exactly they have in common - receive the error message “CLFRJ0010E: Notes initialization failed.” I’m sure we have no double-spaces in any path names. My first guess also turned out to be wrong: I thought this might only happen to users with more than one notes.ini (I mean the backups), however, testing showed that this was not the case. Some get it, some don’t, nevertheless installation is successful and even if they received this message, it will login to LN8.5.1FP4 normally and at the next login this error will not appear anymore.
