Install Domino 8.5.1 on CentOS 5.4 64-bit

I am trying to install Domino 8.5.1 on CentOS 5.4 64-bit, but I’ve run into a problem. The install seems to go okay initially, but then hangs at creating uninstaller. I’ve tried several times now, but the result is always the same. I’ve already successfully installed and run Domino 8.5.1 on CentOS 5.4 32-bit without any issues.

The last several entries in the install log say something about not being able add product information to the RPM database, but then says it isn’t critical and the installation will continue. This doesn’t seem relevant, however, since I see the same warning in the install log on the 32-bit server.

I did find one thread mentioning this exact problem over a year ago on RHEL 5.1, but there was no solution given.

Other than that, I found zero information on this problem. I have to believe that others have tried to install Domino on 64-bit RHEL or CentOS and run into the same issue.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Saw something similar

When I installed on 64 bit Centos the installation spent about 5 minutes at the creating uninstaller step and then proceeded. Been running without any issues since the initial install.

Subject: Never gets past creating uninstaller

I let it sit overnight. Never went past the creating uninstaller step.
