Subject: I don’t know if it’s “working as designed”…
Traditionally I rename the Notes directory and do a “fresh” install. If I need something from that original directory I then copy it back from the renamed directory. Most all the settings one cares about are in notes.ini, and databases (like names.nsf) may be moved around willy-nilly with hardly a care. So I don’t recall encountering the scenario you describe.- I’d restore from backup (assuming you have one) to another directory and copy what you need from there to the new installation.
Hope this helps…
Subject: Does not sound Can you post the logs?
This definitely does not sound right. During an upgrade an uninstall does happen behind the scenes but id file and files that have been changed by the user in the data dir should not get deleted. Can you post the LotusInstall.log so we can investigate the issue? For now, copying your files from your backup dir should work.
