I was attempting to instal the new release of Lotus Notes 8.0.2 over Lotus Notes version 8, Basic Release, standard configuration and as soon as i unpacked the install files and started installing i got a message - “the upgrade you are attempting is not supported” …
Does anybody know what to do in this case?

I had this yesterday when trying the normal client but then tried with the admin client (w/o admin function selected) and that installed/ran OK

You must install the same client type on top of the existing client type when upgrading. If you have Basic Allclient (Domino Designer) installed, then you must upgrade using the Standard Allclient kit. Similarly if you have Basic Notes Client installed, you must use Standard Notes client kit.
