I have a form with a rich text field, when a button is clicked, it mails the document. The users want the system to automatically append a picture on the body of the memo. This picture must come from the database itself and not from a file in the users hardisk, is this possible?

An easy way to accomplish this is to store the picture as an embedded element in a RT field. You can then appendRTItem to the existing body to add the image.
There are plenty of posts on this, and the help file has this function well documented.
