I was just messing around with the Input Enabled field property.
The field I am using is a Native OS Style field but it resides in a layout region. It works when the field is NOT in a layout region but doesn’t work when it IS in a layout region.
Is this the way it works?
Thanks,
Quin
Subject: Didn’t try that but we just published a developer tip on Input Enabled formulas
Here is a link to the tip:
Input enabled is rather limited in ND 6. I am not surprised it does not work in layout regions since the Native OS control is probably not being used. The good news is that in ND7 the input enabled works for all types of fields regardless of style and datatype. I did not try layout regions but that might work too.
Did you try using layers?

Subject: That’s too funny…
…your tip is what prompted me to mess around with that property. Oh well. Thanks anyway. I Love the tips by the way!!
Subject: Circular reference?
Sorry, I did not think the tip would help you directly (except for the ND7 part) but I also was posting for everyone else who might have no idea what input enabled is!
Appreciate the commments,
Howard
