Inotes R5 is terrible on 6.5.3

Well,

After reading all the good news about R6.5x concerning performance etc, we decided to implement R6.5.2.

Dual CPU 3Gb RAM W2K server with all the latest service packs and hotfixes.

Since then nothing but complaints from users with regards to performance.

IE “locks up”, fetching records can take 5 mins etc, everyone is bitterly dissapointed and there are serious questions about Lotus Domino as a viable product.

Currently the majority of users are on IE 6.0 SP1 with all the hot fixes, with W2K OS.

The template is inotes5.ntf from the R6.5.2 install.

Have implemented all the suggested fixes, but still no stable performance for users (GZIP compression, HTTP caching, hotfixes for IE etc).

Is anyone else having such issues?

Convert to the iNotes6.ntf template. We have hundreds of users on that template with no problems.

Your users should also welcome all the changes and enhancements that the iNOtes6 template gives them.
