iNotes not loading or loading with errors

This issue just recently came up, and we are trying to pin down exactly WHERE the problem is. Users outside our LAN have begun having intermittent problems logging in via iNotes. The login process goes smoothly, but the interface fails to load completely, sometimes giving “iNotes error” messages, sometimes loading only a part of the page (then the browser records javascript errors), while other times performing normally.

This behavior seems to only be when users are connecting outside our LAN.

We have checked our firewall, checked our server, and checked everything in between. There are no log entries anywhere pointing to a problem. Has anyone encountered this sort of behavior? Could someone at least give us a new direction to look? Thanks in advance.

are you using ssl?

which version of inotes are you using?

what version of http are you using?

we had huge issues with ssl, http 1.0 and inotes5. Lotus provided a hotfix to correct it.

…the same problem. It seems to be located at some firewalls/http-proxy configurations.

In some environments it is not possible to send mails: the send dialog never closes.

Sometimes it’s not possible to read the content of the inbox.

Some kind of http-redirect problem?

There is MS software involved in all problematic environments: ms proxy server + raptor (I think) and ms firewall on w2k as a home office solution.

Deactivating java script on the domino server has no effect: the same behavior.

The interesing point is that iNotes5 was not so sensitive, it worked more often.

There must be a solution for a working http scenario otherwise it makes no sense to use WebAccess.

We are using domino 6.0.3.

If you have some new experiences…
