iNotes Internet email address/not hierarchical email address?

I am having the same problem as Kapou Fong. I am trying to have iNotes emails to send out with internet email address (sender@domain.com) and not hierarchical email address (sender_gates/organization@domain.com. I have tried some of the things people suggested and none of them work, how come it’s working for them??? Someone suggested to do this"“In inotes or web-mail open tools>preferences from the toolbar menu and in basic tab set the field “mail owner of this mail file” to “sender@domain.com””". But upon doing this iNotes only accept hierarchical name not internet name.

So I am still puzzled as to how I could use internet email address instead of Hierarchical email address?? Thanks in advance.

Edit your location document and add your email address to the "Internet Address

Field"…(its in the “Basics” tab.

i had known this config in Lotus Notes. but its setting did not work in iNotes.

Try putting user@mycompany.com in the shortname field also.

On the Configuration Settings doc for the sending server, MIME tab, Conversion Options tab, Outbound tab. Check the setting “Lookup Internet address for all Notes addresses when Internet address is not defined in document”…

Is this enabled?

Yes, my “Lookup internet address for all Notes addresses when Interent address is not defined in document” is enabled.

Joe, have you tried using the sender@domain.com format?:-jmw

Have you got it working yourself too? Where did you put this?? It’s no good if you just say use it, and no detailed steps or got it working yourself too. Has anyone been able to get it running with verification???

Joe, Sorry for the confusion, I was offering a suggestion that has worked for a similar sounding problem, I can’t say it will definetly help you, as I can’t verify your exact symptom. Inotes has an “issue” routing emails addressed as user@domain.com, if your address uses the format user@domain.com in the To field, typed in or from a lookup where it’s stored in that format it routes correctly. I thought it might be worth trying the <> format wherever you are entering a user@domain.com entry. Hope it helps!:-jmw
