Is it possible to use web mail when the mail template is MAIL6EX.NTF (Domino Web Access for Microsoft Outlook)?

Yes:

mail6ex.ntf - supports Notes, Web (but not DWA), DOLS and IMAP.

mail6.ntf - supports basic Notes access (and IMAP too, I believe)

inotes6.ntf - supports everything

You can use any of the currently-shipping templates with DAMO, but you do need a 6.5.1 Domino server (running on any platform, of course).
