I have been testing and playing the iNotes Default Mail Sorting Preference for few days and I’m still not able to explain what is it supposed to do. Any help and suggestion is very much appreciated.
On inotes template, I want to change the sort order (from Ascending to Descending) of the date column of all the views & folders in both Notes and Web clients. What is the best way? Or is it possible at all?
I have tried the below methods:
- Change the sort order of the column in the view/folder using Designer.
Problem - The sort order works fine on Notes client, but on Web client, I found out if I change the design, the inotes mail sorting preference doesn’t work properly. I can’t even get a consistent result on the preference.
- Not making changes on the inotes template. For Notes Client - Manually change the column sorting for each view/folders and make sure “Retain View Column Sorting” is checked on the user preference. For Web Client - Change the inotes preference sorting to “Descending”.
Problem - The inotes preference sorting result is not consistent. Also, this doesn’t help me on all new created folders. I want mails in all folders to be sorted descending.
Anyone out there is trying the same thing? Any suggestions is appreciated!
