I have an external contacts address book (based on the pubnames.ntf) and I’m using directory assistance.When using iNotes and picking a name from this external contacts - the mail is sent correctly but the senders address is replace with firstname_lastname@primary internet domain com.
eg . Person a.b@external.com is listed in the external contacts. When sending a mail - the mail arrives but the display name is changed to a_b@internaldomain.com (internaldomain is the domain used within the domino directory)
If I delete the person in the external contacts and send a mail to a.b@external.com everything works fine.
Apparently, when using iNotes, Domino still ignores SMTP/Global domain docs as well as the “Forwarding address” for users in your NAB’s w/ address types of “Other Internet Mail.” Use the Notes.INI setting referenced in the link above and also place the user’s SMTP address in the shortname field.
It should take just a few seconds to fix all of your entries with an agent that makes “ShortName” := “MailAddress” where “MailSystem” = 5
IMHO, none of this should be necessary. iNotes/Domino should just respect the “Forwarding Address” or “Internet Address” settings.
