Hello,
Im having some troubles with Domino. Im using V6.5.2 on an OS400 V5R3.
This is a fresh domino install. I imported users from a text file without any problem. Lotus notes is working ok. But when i try to access an email box with Inotes (http://domserv/mail/user.nsf), it doesnt allow the user, unless i enter with the admin account.
Changing the user’s internet pw doesnt work. The option to force the user to change pw on next login doesnt work either.
Any help will be welcome
Thanks
Subject: Inotes authentification
Hi,
It seems like an ACL problem.
Did you checked the user’s mailbox ACL?

You were right. For some reasons, during the import the user’s rights on his user.nsf mailbox were put on “no access”.
What rights level should users have on their own mailboxes ? And should they be put on the names.nsf ACL at all ?
Thanks

If a user is using a 6 client, they may have Editor, Designer, or Manager rights to their mailfiles, depending on what types of controls you want to put on them. R5 users must be either Designer or Manager.
Users need at least Reader access to the NAB, but Author is more common (so they can edit their own Person Document). You can use the -Default- ACL entry to accomplish this, or leave -Default- at No Access and add the users via a group or some other entry. Again, it depends on how you want your environment set up and there are a number of ways to do it.
Good luck!
