iNotes and Traveler on the same DMZ server

Hi

I have a server in the DMZ that I have installed Traveler on (port 443). Traveler works perfectly. My customer would now like to use the SAME server for iNotes (we will use port 80 - yes, I know that is is not secure :o) - no problem I thought. I replicated the needed mail databases, setup the webredir database and setup the needed Internet site documents.

I now have 2 Internet site document:

  1. webmail.xxx.com listening to port 80 and set as the default site

  2. mobile.xxx.com listening to port 443

my problem is that no matter what I do when I go to the site http://webmail.xxx.com (which should then open http://webmail.xxx.com/webredir.nsf?open) what actually happens is that I get redirected to https://mobile.xxx.com/servlet/traveler. It seems as if Traveler has decided that it will be the default site!

I have tried to not use internet site documents - this works until I restart the server at which time the traveler service then updates the home url in the server document.

My questions are:

  1. can iNotes and Traveler co-exist on the same server?

  2. if yes, how do I setup the Internet Site documents correctly.

What I want is:

when the user enters https://mobile.xxx.com for traveler to answer and when they enter http://webmail.xxx.com for iNotes to answer.

Thanking you in advance

Subject: Remove NTS_WEBSITE_HOME from notes.ini

Notes.ini variable NTS_WEBSITE_HOME controls the iNotes homepage on Traveler-enabled servers. Remove this variable. For more information on NTS_WEBSITE_HOME, search the Lotus Domino information center.

Subject: Have you got the re-director working?

ie. can you test it using the direct URL ?I can’t get mine to forward, it just gives me an error

Subject: Redirector working

Hi

Thank you for your response.

Yes, I have the redirector working - when I enter the address directly (webmail.xxx.com/webredir.nsf) it works perfectly. The problem is when the users enter the address WITHOUT the webredir.nsf database they get redirected to the Traveler page (this kinda makes sense to me as I installed Traveler first). I have created a Internet Site document that is set as the default site that points to the redirector but it doesn’t seem to work!

Any other ideas?

Thank you in advance

Subject: We have that configuration working

You have to use internet site documentsOne site for traveler - dont forget you have to add a Web Site Rule to overide session authentication for the Traveler servlet.

One for your i-notes redirect, however set the iNotes redirect as the default in the server document before enabling internet sites.

Subject: Default site

Hallo Rupert

Thank you for your response.

I did try exactly what you say but it just will not work for me. It seems as if Traveler is hijacking the default document no matter what I do. Maybe I should remove traveler and reinstall it. I even told the server to no longer use internet site documents and setup the default site to point to the redirect - when I restart the server the default is changed to Traveler again.

Any ideas what I have done differently to you?

Thanking you in advance
