iNotes and Notes Clients

I’m very interested in iNotes an allowing our users to access their email via a web interface. However, most of the time they will use a Notes client to access email, and just ocassionally use a web interface.

The basic mail template has a terrible web front end. The iNotes interface is fantastic.

Are there any issues in users accessing email via a client and the web (using iNotes).

I would need to customize the iNotes template heavily for our notes Client - again, are there any problems with this?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

David.

The bigeest problem we’ve experienced is the SLOWNESS of iNotes. But then it depends on where they are access it from. Inhouse isn’t so bad… but outside from some other connection… test it first.

Sounds like us. We have some users who use iNotes exclusively, some who use iNotes from home and the client from work, and those who use only the client. Everyone is on the iNotes template. We’ve customized (pretty heavily) the Notes client side of the mailtemplate and have had no issues. We would like to customize the iNotes ‘stuff’ too, but that’s just not gonna happen.

Permit me to add to this. We are testing the iNotes/WDA template for use by all our employees who get their LN mail over the Web. One of the testers has an issue - the template will not work on his Palm-OS based Wi-Fi PDA. He gets an ‘incompatible browser’ message. When he switches back to the ‘old’ (blue) template, he does not have the problem. Does anyone know why the iNotes/WDA template for web mail might be causing this issue? Does anyone know if Lotus plans to release updated templates? I agree the iNotes can be slow, but we feel it has a lot more ‘oomphf’ to offer our users if we can overcome the PDA issue.

Dean:

I responded to your other post on the PDA/iNotes topic … but in short, the micro-browser on most PDAs can’t handle the Javascript in the iNotes template.
