iNotes and Dolls

Hi,

Im working to get some of my users to use iNotes and have them able to work offline using DOLS. However, when ve tested this, the “Go Offline” button doesnt appear in the browser and hence I cant make the DOLS download. Im assuming this means that a DOLS service hasnt been started on the server, though I cant be certain. Is there some way I can tell if the service is running, and if it isnt, how do I start it?

Ive used help and done every step in all the relevant documents I can find, but it doesnt seem to be working.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ben,

There are several ways to check whether DOLS is running on ur server or not.

First check the server document for the correct DSAPI filter used. for win32 plaforms the DSAPI filter is “ndolextn”

check the same at Internet Protocols-HTTP-DSAPI.

If this is there u can make it sure that DOLS is enabled. Otherwise I suggest u to type the proper DSAPI filter name here. And creat a DOMADMIN.nsf from DOMADMIN.ntf. In this database u have to create the Offline Security Policy document. U can find step by step help in the Domino Administrator’s help database.

After setting up the DOLS in the server, pls ensure u have copied all reqd design elements from the DOLRES.NTF to the database for which u r enabling DOLS. Then see that u r callin the WebControl page at any of the frame.

Also note that the developer can hide the GoOffline button as he wants (via Hide/When property). Check for that also.

Still if u have any problem, pls revert back with all the info.

Thanks Logesh,

I has done all that previously and still nothing. The DB I want to use is an iNotes mail file, so for these, the download button shouldnt be hidden and they already include the elements from DOLRES.NTF. The rest is as its supposed to be.

Any more help?

Thanks
