iNotes and ActiveX issue

I am currently looking at upgrading to R8.5.1FP3. I have a test server in place, and have upgraded a mail file to the newest template.

From a Windows 7 Professional/IE8 workstation I can access the iNotes webmail database. However, I am getting the following error:

“Lotus iNotes Control is not loaded. If it’s blocked by browser, please unblock it and try again.”

When I click on the Preferences option, I get the following error message.

“The installation of Lotus iNotes 8.5 Control has been blocked or declined by the user. Do you want to use the on subsequent Lotus iNotes pages?”. I click OK.

When the basics page loads, I click the Install button under the Lotus iNotes Control section, and I get the following message.

"Loading Lotus iNotes Control …

Failure: The Lotus iNotes Control has been blocked or was not installed."

I have been able to replicate this on a Windows XP machine running IE7. I have even tried this as a local administrator. We do not block activex. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Try to add your server in the Trusted sites of IE.HTH

Subject: Forgot to mention…

I tried that option too…added it as a Intranet Zone site, and a Trusted Site. The results are the same. If I cannot figure this out, it will be a major hurdle for the upgrade.

Any of you have any update for this particular issue? Am looking for some solution / workaround on this.

We too are facing the same issue. We have installed LD 8.5.1 with FP3 and get the same error in Inotes login. Have tried all options in IE…
