Since we upgraded one of our Domino servers to version 8.5.1, we’ve been experiencing high CPU usage using iNotes. The process iexplore.exe consumes up to 50 % of the CPU (on a dual core system) when the iNotes client shows a view or folder (like Inbox, Sent or Trash). If an e-mail tab is open, the CPU usage immediately goes back to a normal level.
I tried disabling the notification of new e-mails and the automatic update of the Inbox without any results.
This behavior appears on several computers using different mail databases but only in Internet Explorer using Full mode (both version 8 on Vista and version 6 on Windows 2000). Using Lite mode or Firefox works as expected.
