I sent the following options, exited Notes, but always imaegs are displayed inline and not as attachments - is there a way to fix this?I noticed other people have reported this, but there does not seem to be a resolution.

Options set:

  • Show inline MIME images as attachments.

  • Mail - Internet - unchecked 'Do not show remote images without my permission.

It doesn’t even work with notes to notes, e.g. in Lotus I emailed myself an email containing a screenshot. I suppose I am expecting when I receive this - it should have this image as an attachment instead of how I pasted it in.

But it remains always inline.

Additionally, many emails I have received externally do not correctly display images. they just instead display a red box with a red x at the top.

Subject: several things affect this

Machines with certain color depths can’t display certain images inline. We used to see this with our early thin client adoption. The viewers that work with attachments convert the images for display, so we needed them to be an attachment so we can use the viewer.

the notes.ini settings you want are :

ShowMIMEImagesAsAttachments=0

BrowserRenderDisable=0

Additionally, if you receive internet emails from otuside sources, the images may not be attached/embedded, but might be an html reference pulling the image from a website. In that case, you have to be online, and your notes location document needs to have your proxy server information/login (if you have one).
