Indexer blocks database while "opening database.nsf"

Hello community!

After we changed to server version 9 we have the problem, that the Indexer shows the activity “Opening database.nsf” and during the next 20 min this task is running, no user is able to access the database. This happens several times a day and is VERY annoying.

The database actually has 2.6 million documents and a size of 8 GB. It has a full text index. We did not change anything in the design and didn’t have this problems when we only had servers with server version 8.5.2.

What is the “opening…” activity doing? I never saw this activity in the old version.

Subject: Next time this happens

Could you take a couple of nsd’s from the command prompt & then send them to me (you can do nsd -stacks to speed things up) ? I’ll take a look.
