Index files

It seems to me that Lotus Domino by default store the index file of a database in a subdirectory where the database file is located. I don’t want to store the index files there, want them in another directory, maybe outside the data directory. We usually index all our databases, so we got a lot of *.ft folders below the data directory.I think this maybe could be an notes.ini setting, but I am not sure. Or if it is possible to hide *.ft folders, that could also be a solution.

My problem is when I am opening my admin client and go to the Files Tab, takes a few moments to whatch " Getting files in…"

And I guess it will take longer and longer time, because I am going to move several databases to these servers. These servers are in a Domino-Cluster…

Anyone, who can help?

Thanks

Subject: Index files (You can hide them)

You can hide your ft-directories by selecting them and set the Directory ACL. We set the directory ACL to LocalDomainServers so only the server can see the index-folders. Now it takes about 2 seconds to load the files in the admin client before i took me about 5-10 minutes.
