Incremental Installers Gone Wild

Can someone please explain what is going on with the incremental installers? I see 6.0.2 CF1 is available on Passport, in spite of the fact that the fixlist database says its in gold testing, not yet released.

Are these full versions or incrementals? Does it even make any difference? If I have 6.0.0 and I install 6.0.2 CF1, is that the same as going 6.0.0 → 6.0.1 CF1 → 6.0.2 CF1?

By the way, what’s up with the file sizes? A critical fixpack with 6 fixes is over 100 MB in size? Why so inefficient? Can it not at least recognize which files have changed and not send identical ones to the client each time? I can’t see using Smart Upgrade if everyone is going to log in one morning and try to get a 130 MB file at the same time.

Hi…

6.0.2CF1 on Passport is a full install.

6.0.1CF1 with 100MB ist more than 6 fixes. 6 Fixes are official, but if you install you’ll see that there’e a lot more fixed as described.

Of course Lotus won’t write: hey you found 6 bugs and we fix them in conjunction with 200 others…
