Hi,
We are having a problem with the formatting of a user’s email, let’s call him John Doe/My Company/ACME
One day a manager got a delivery failure when he sent a mail to John Doe.
On checking, we found that he sent the email to John Doe/My Company/ACME.com and that is why the mail was not delivered.
We checked the user’s recent contacts, found the entry with the incorrect address and deleted it.
However, the user started to get the entry with John Doe/My Company/ACME.com again and delivery failures.
And other users started getting the same problem.
What we did was to set DPABRemoveRule=ACME in the notes.ini of the user’s who were getting the problem, and it does prevent the wrong address John Doe/My Company/ACME.com from being added to the recent contacts.
We also cleared the field DPAB in the dips profile.
Unfortunately, the problem still persists and I am running out of ideas and of places to search for.
The weirdest part is that the users sometimes forward a mail or send a new mail to John Doe and it bounces back because Lotus tried to send it to John Doe/My Company/ACME.com
We also checked the person document of John Doe, his notes.ini and his location documents and everywhere we looked, if there was any domain or username specified, the domain was correctly written as “ACME”, not “ACME.com”
Also, both users have BlackBerries. We checked the BlackBerries (even though they get the delivery failures when they send from the Notes client, not the BlackBerry) but there also, the addresses were correct.
The user who had the original problem used Lotus 8.5.3 but we have upgraded his client to Release 9.0 SHF316 since then.
Does anyone have any additional ideas or suggestions please?
