Inconsistent Names in Lotus History Files

I’m having a problem in tracking communications with “out of house” messages in the Lotus history files.

My most recent example is Doug Mxxx at National Xxx. He shows up under two names in the history files : “doug” and “Doug Mxxx”. I find both in the Sent file, and only “Doug Mxxx” in the Inbox file.

There are other similar cases that have baffled me in the past, so I decided it was best to take the required time to troubleshoot this problem.

When I send him a message that is not a reply to a message from him, “doug” results in the Sent file. When I reply to him, “Doug Mxxx” results.

I created a dummy address “Doug Test” = doug@test.com in my Address Book. Sending a message there results in “doug” in my sent folder, identical to those I already have for Doug Mxxx.

This inconsistent behavior by Lotus causes difficulty in tracking business communications, and has resulted in lost time in the past and today. Is there any way to make this Lotus behavior consistent?

I have tried different settings in my Address Book, with no good results. I think Lotus is picking up only the name portion of the address (before the @ symbol) : e.g. doug@nationalxxx.com. I think we need Lotus to either match the full address to the Address Book info and display the Address Book name, or failing that, to display the actual full address, or just plain show the actual full address with no attempt to match - or maybe there is another way to solve this?

Thanks to all!
