I am using “@MailSend” in an action button upon submission of the document. Rather than [IncludeDocLink] as the flag, I want to include a view or database link. Is this possible? If so, how?
Thank you.

I don’t know that you can do that using @MailSend; I know you can using LotusScript’s NotesDocument.Send by creating a back-end document and using AppendDocLink with a NotesRichTextItem.

Thank you both very much for your help!

you can do it by adding the link as a text string in the Body of the @MailSend. Something like this:
NOTES://SERVER/DB/VIEW
For the SERVER you’d need to hard code the server name unless you’re running @MailSend from the same server where the db resides in which case you can use @Name([CN]; @ServerName). For db you can enter the complete filepath or you can use a replica ID. If you use replica ID be sure to strip out the colon “:”. For the view you need to enter the 32 digit UNID of the view. You can get this from designer by highlighting the view and going to the properties. Here’s what a few version would look like:
This would send a Notes link to a specific document:
host := @Name([CN]; @ServerName);
db := @Left(@ReplicaID; “:”) + @Right(@ReplicaID; “:”);
view := “2326CC9AAADC0F7B8525721200649667”;
doc := @Text(@DocumentUniqueID);
command := “?OpenDocument”;
link := “NOTES://” + host + “/” + db + “/” + view + “/” + doc + command;
@MailSend(Supervisor; “”; “”; “Pending Request”;
“NOTE: You must be connected to the network to access this doc link.” + @NewLine + @NewLine + @UpperCase(link); “”)
This would open a database on server APP01:
“NOTES://APP01/854772120076D9E5/2296CC9BBADC0F7B8525721200649668”
This would send a Notes link to a specific view in the db:
host := “APP1”;
db := “SALES/contacts.nsf”;
view := “2296CC9BBADC0F7B8525721200649668”;
link := “NOTES://” + host + “/” + db + “/” + view;
@MailSend(Supervisor; “”; “”; “Pending Request”;@UpperCase(link); “”)
Subject: Careful with filename in link
I tested the last example with the filename
db := “SALES/contacts.nsf”
This did shutdown the notes client the hard way. (R6.5)
Better take the db.ReplicaID!
