Incemental Upgrade Problem

Hi All,

I recently upgraded a Domino server from 6.5.1 to 6.5.1 FP1 which worked fine.

I am trying to figure out what the upgrade path is to 6.5.3. I had assumed it was as follows:

6.5.1 FP1 → 6.5.X to 6.5.2 → 6.5.2 → 6.5.3 (assuming you don’t need to use the fix packs for 6.5.2 if you waited for the 6.5.3 incremental upgrade)

I tried using the 6.5.X to 6.5.2 incremental upgrade but it doesn’t work on a server running 6.5.1 FP1

Am I missing an upgrade version here - I have been all through the lists?

Would appreciate some assistance on this.

If you have the URL link to the next upgrade for 6.5.1 FP1 onwards I would appreciate it if you could paste it into your reply.

Thanks all,

Mark

The 6.5.X to 6.5.2 should theoretically work, but since it doesn’t, you could try to apply the 6.5.1FP1 patch again, and degrade to 6.5.1, and then try the 6.5.1 to 6.5.2 patch.

If all patches fail, it’s no big deal to reinstall Domino over your existing installation either, just take a copy of the notes.ini, and when the new version is installed, copy the notes.ini back. I usually do a “FC notes.ini backup\notes.ini” from DOS (filecompare), to check what the newly installed domino changed in the notes.ini, and if it’s only minor things which identify the new domino release, I would just leave the modified notes.ini there.

Subject: where to get that 6.5.3 download?

regarding installing server 6.5.3 over the existing 6.5.1… the problem is now that they arent sending CDs out anymore… which download do i use to do that?

i can only find this one on passport adv stite:

DOMINO SERVER INCREMENTAL INSTALL 6.5.3 TO 6.5.3 FP1 E-ASSY

what is this E-ASSY? and it looks like you need to have 6.5.3 to use this? what do I use? ( we are at 6.5.1 on Windows)

thanks

Well, Ruthie, the “ASSY” part is standard parts catalog terminology for “assembly” – I assume that it means the same here (e may mean “electronic” in this context, indicating that there is no physical part that one might carry around). Looking the site(s) over, it seems that there is a problem with the downloads right at the moment, with most of the incrementals missing. Again.
