Inbox Opening Slowly

Please help me figure this one out!!!

Problem: User (R6.5 client, XP, inote6.ntf template) logs into PC and click on inbox icon from default welcome page. It takes 10-15 minutes to open the inbox but runs fine after that (preparing memos, reading mail, etc…) until she closes inbox then 15 mintues more to open again.

Troubleshooting:

Had the user go to 4 machines and log on - If it is an R6.5 client - 10 minutes, if it is iNotes 6.5 or R5 client - 30 seconds to open the inbox. Other people use these machine and when they click on thier inbox - 30 seconds to open.

I have reloaded the software on her PC, erased the Notes.ini file, cache.dsk, bookmark.nsf, names.nsf, desktop5.dsk, cache6.ndk and desktop6.ndk. I also had her try different welcome screens.

I have refreshed and replaced her template (inotes6.ntf). I have compacted her mail file, and run fixup.

When I open her mail file from my PC - 30 seconds.

Any thoughts?

It’s kind of a quick shortcut to fix the problem.

Check her mail file size (Database Properties)What are the specs of her PC, what is the access(speed) to the server, Is she using a hub, check NIC card.

Bring her system to your office if possible, if it opens faster you know that the machine is not the problem.

Replace Network Card, if problem persist, check mail file…and so on, go by elimination process.

good luck

I know it is not the machine, I had her take her ID and go to four different PCs. Any running R6 did not work, but any running R5 did.

All these machines were in use by R6.5 users and working fine as long as it was NOT this user.

Thanks Though…
