I changed the short name and e-mail address on several mailboxes using Administrator, and now some users can’t access their Inbox from iNotes. iNotes folders other than Inbox are accessible, and I can access all Inboxes from a Notes client using an administrative account. How do I restore user’s iNotes access to their Inboxes?
Subject: Inbox not accessible from iNotes
I have a simliar problem. One of my users can’t access his inbox, but he can access other folders. The problem is ocurring on both his computers, but not when accessed from mine.He gets the error message ‘error encountered retreiving data’ when he refreshes the inbox.
We have v6.0.2 cf1 and he has Win XP and IE6.
Cheers,
Jim

We solved the problem here. There were certain messages that would cause that error message for browsers in WinXP, but Win2000 could view them okay. After I used a Win2000 computer to delete the message, everything was fine.

Subject: Character problem in subject
When this happend to me:I found a post that indicated some sort of Domino HTTP problem with certain foriegn characters in the subject field. Surenuff, when I deleted the worthless spam my iNotes worked again. This has been confirmed several times in my company.
If I could just find that particular character set I could fix it.
