After deleting lots of mail from the All docs view, a user found her in-box was suddenly empty. But if I open the mailfile on my machine I can see all the docs in her inbox.
I have tried deleting her mail icon from her desktop, compacting her desktop and removing the cache. Any other suggestions gratefully received, thanks Anne

Easiest thing would be to delete the local replica and get a new one from the server.

Keep in mind that the "All Documents’ view is the master view in the Notes client. Anything deleted from that view will disappear from other views and folders. Folders are just a way of filtering what is in the All Docs view. Users should be encouraged to delete from the other views rather than the All Docs view. I would bring down a new replica too.
Subject: No local replica involved!
Thanks for both your responses , but sorry - mustn’t have explained very well - the user is a desk top user working off the mail replica on the server. When looking at the mail file from her computer, the problem occurs - ie empty in-box. But if I go to my computer and open the mailfile everything is fine and the in-box is full. So I assume that the problem is to do with the Notes set up on her desktop, thats whay I compacted the desktop etc, but it made no difference. But now I am completely stuck - other than re-installing Notes .

I got the same problem…There is a new button in the inbox called “View unread”, if you clock on it, you will see only your unread documents in the inbox, if there is no new documents, the inbox will be empty on the client side. You will see all email if you open on your side. The button change to “View all” once you have click on it. You may have to close lotus and open it again to get a refresh of the inbox.
