I have an issue happening where a company has had a Domain on Domino for a significant period of time with a .org in the Domain name. While I know this is not supported by IBM it appears to be an issue when an 8.5.X server is introduced.
When a user on a domain running 8.5.1, sends mail to a user on MyDomain.org the user receives a delivery failure " Maximum forwarding loop count exceeded. Message probably in a forwarding loop. Examine Forwarding Address of intended recipient in Domino Directory."
The log shows the following:
03/16/2010 10:45:48 AM Router: Mail Router shutdown
03/16/2010 10:45:51 AM Router: Mail Router started for domain NewDomain

A proper connection record pointing to the target server in the MyDomain.org is properly configured and the mail server can resolve the target server name.
Has anyone else seen this behavior on Domino 8.5.1?
