Importing names into Public Address Book

Hello,I am setting up a temporary secondary address book for our new site. They are still not merged with our network and have completely different Internet address but our management wants to have their addresses available when creating emails. I am trying to import user names and their Internet addresses from a spreadsheet and having problems. I open thenewlu created, empty address book, select Import, select the wk4 file, select Person from, defined by the WKS title and click OK. It looks like it does something and the documents are created bu none of the fields is properly populated (there is nothing in the fileds, just blank user documents.

My spreadsheet file is in the format:

$dspFirstName $dspLastName $dspShortName $dspInternetAddress

(these are the filed names in the first line) and the user names below.

Am I doing something wrong here?

What’s the best method that you guys use to import multiple names into a secondary address book (without going through the regular user registration process)?

Peter

Subject: Importing names into Public Address Book

Hi Peter,If you have the details in a spreadsheet already, try downloading the file in the link I’m posting here. Use the headers from there and import the .wk4 file - works great, I’ve used it several times.

Good luck.

Just skip the part about saving contacts from outlook, you only want the part about the sample spreadsheet and import.

Hans,That worked, with some fiddling. You have saved me couple of hours of work.

Many Thanks,
