Excel 2007 no longer includes “save as” to WK4. We have always used this for quick import from Excel to Notes.
CSV and Tab delimited imports have issues - is there a way to get from Excel to Notes without writing code? I can and have used code when I have to, but I hate to make a 5 min job into a 1/2 hour job.
If you have a relatively flat view, try the copy selected as table - copies into Excel pretty well.
Also, I have always preferred Tabular Text for manually exporting views straight from Notes to Excel. Just make sure that your column widths are wide enough in the UI, or the tab file will be truncated.
Those are the 2 methods I have been using since our conversion to 2007.
Look in the sandbox for a solution. I use the one by Wiebe van Bruggen (Import MS Excel - generic version). All you have to do is name the excel columns the same name as the Notes fields and fill in an import form.
If you’d like to consider a third party solution we have a Lotus Notes / Domino import utility that can handle this for you. It imports directly from MS-Excel, MS-Outlook, MS-Access, CSV, Tab, File attachments, etc, is easy to use and has many features
