This question has already been answered dozens of times in this forum.Here’s a nice free utility you might want to try;

you can also save the XLS file as a WK4 file (Lotus 1-2-3) then import it into a view. You have to setup a form correclty so that the values imported into the view are passed into the document fields correclty. Look up Importing > Files into views in designer help.
