Images Missing in Inbound HTML eMails

Dear All,

We recently switched our eMail routing to use our parent company’s mail gateway (Domino server) to get to the internet. After we made this change any inbound HTML eMail that includes linked images are not display. Instead, the word [image] is display in red where the actual image should be.

The only think that changed on my side was the creation of a foreign SMTP domain document. Before this all of the images displayed fine. So one would think that the problem is on the remote server.

My notes clients have no problems accessing the internet. They can even browse the web with the wonderful Lotus Notes Browser.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Mike

try these items:

Make sure the client have perweb.nsf in data directory and is based on current template design for the client version.

Make sure location doc has perweb.nsf in the field “Web Navigator Database” on the Advanced > Web Retriever tab.

In the location doc, try switching the Internet Browser (internet browser tab) to some other choice, save it then switch it back to “Microsoft Internet Explorer” and save it then have someone send you a test message with some HTML linked images in it.

Check that your person doc in the domino directory has the MessageStorage field set to “1” (Keep in sender’s format)

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the feedback, but I’ve already tried all of those steps to no avail.

Still looking for a solution, I’ll post something if/when I figure it out.

Regards,

Mike
