IIS and Websphere plugin

Background:-We have a domino application and inotes server which currently accepts rsa securid logins via the ISA2000 proxy server. The domino server has iis (port 80) and a websphere plugin (port 1080) installed and configured. IIS is setup with Basic and Integrated authentication. This works fine.

We would now like to use the same domino server to accept internal requests for intranet purposes. I have configured a standard win2k server with IIS and websphere plugin which sits on the LAN (iis configured for Basic and Integrated authentication) and directs requests to the Domino server (above).

Issue:-

With the new LAN Intranet setup, despite being logged onto the network (and nt domain), we still receive a prompt for authentication from the new win2k iis box. Why is this so? And how can I overcome this? Is this setup correct?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Subject: IIS and Websphere plugin

It is a bit hard to tell exactly what you have, but some things to consider:

  1. What sort of authentication do you want?

  2. What do you want to be master. That is you mention Domino, Websphere, and IIS. Which of these should be master.

  3. How will the other systems know anout any given user?
