IDVault and New registered user

Dear

i have registered a new user and the id was saved in idvault.

When i start a client (frsh installation) i give the user name and server in the dialog and then i get a dialog “Choose your user id”.

The id is in the vault and the download counter is 1.

Can anyone help me ?

Can i use id vault for a client new configuration.

Subject: Did you mis-type the user name by any chance?

If so, we have an existing SPR (PLOI7KGH7L) tracking this issue. If you restart the Notes client and rerun setup, does it work correctly?

Details from the SPR

  1. Register a brand new user with the ID in the vault and then run through client setup.

  2. Go to another machine - this machine has a clean install and no existing data.

  3. Launch the client again and click Next on the first setup dialog.

  4. In the next dialog type the users name incorrectly (I made a typo) but type in a valid Domino server name and click Next. Notice as expected you get the dialog: “User or server name not found in the Domino Directory”. Click OK.

  5. Now correct the typo in the user name and click Next again. Notice that the ID is not pulled from the vault. The user is instead prompted for the file. I had to click Cancel because I didn’t have the id file on disk. It was in the vault.

Subject: Enter the IP address into the servername field

I had exactly the same issues and after I entered the IP address into the servername field, everything worked well.

Max:Have you been able to resolve this issue? I’m having the exact same problem here.

Any newly registered user gets a copy of their ID saved to the vault, but when I attempt to configure the client, it ALWAYS asks me to browse for the ID file.

(and idiot me stopped saving the ID to the Domino directory before figuring out this wasn’t working)
