ID Vault setup on evaluation server

We have set up an 8.5 evaluation server to check out DAOS, shared login, and the ID Vault.

Testing for the first two went well, but in trying to set up an ID vault on this test server, which is still in the same org/domain as our production systems, I’m running into a problem.

Step 3 of the Vault creation asks to select the Vault server (our evaulation server is already selected). I’m allowed to change the server, but don’t want to. When I hit “Next” to proceed, I receive an error indicating “The Domino Administration Server, xxxxxxx/Org, is not responding. The Domino Administration server is needed to complete this process. Please wait and retry later.”

Now, our administration server is up and running just fine, but is at 8.0.2.

Does ID vault require the administration server ALSO be at 8.5 before we can set up and test (run)?

Hi Leon,

From the Domino 8.5 Administrator Help document, “ID Vault FAQ”:

“The Domino Directory administration server must run 8.5 but does not have to be a vault server.”

It would appear that your tests of ID Vault can not proceed without implementing a separate test Domain or upgrading your administration server to 8.5.
