How can I keep up-to-date, 2 copies of the same id? I don’t think I can use the roaming user setup because one id will be used when the laptop is not connected to the network.

Here’s the situation. I’ve been “told” that we are using Citrix with Lotus Notes. Laptop users will have 2 different icons because of bandwidth issues. One for when they are not connected to the network and one for when they are connected to the network. One icon will be using a notes setup that will reside locally, the other icon will point to the Notes client setup for Citrix server. I can’t figure out how to keep the ids in sync with each other.

I don’t have much choice in this so I have to figure out a way to make it work.

Any ideas?

One ID should be used. Just create location documents and instruct the user to use the Offline location document when disconnected.

There’s a setting in the server doc under the Security tab called “Check passwords on Notes IDs” that forces passwords to match by comparing them to what is stored in the Person doc. We’re using the default Disabled setting so I haven’t really explored this but you might want to. If you click on the text “Check passwords on Notes IDs” and keep the mouse button pressed, you can read a brief description of this feature.
