Release 9 DDE: If you add a new column to a view, “display values as icons”, then the icons are grey as a new standard. (I doubt, this greying out improves usability). So, if you want to have them the old COLOR Way, like a RED X or a Green Checked Icon, you have to go to view properties and click “Colorize View Icons” on the third tab.
THIS CHECKBOX IS WRONG!, i.e. it inverts the meaning. If it is checked, the icons are grey, if it is NOT checked, the icons ARE colorized.
Your post made me curious, so I added a column displaying a coloured icon to an existing view in an application and started playing with the ‘Colorize view icons’ option. I was surprised to see that … the option didn’t seem to have any effect at all. (Just to clarify: I was using Notes, not a Web browser, to view the application.)
